6 Hour Run Pictures, Nov 15th, Rhode Island Race

I ran a 6 hour race in Rhode Island on Sunday, Nov. 15th, as part of my racing every 3-4 weeks, in an Ultra-Marathon distance (31 miles, 50 miles, 62 miles, or anything over 30 anyway, leading up to my intention to run a 100 mile race in NJ end of March 2010.

I am improving with each race now, and intend to be leaner, faster and ready for races in 2010.

Had a good race, ran through without stop (except for liquids, etc.) and covered 33 miles in just over 6 hours. A year ago, I would have covered 35-36 miles, but I had curtailed my training for business and personal reasons. Running is a relative thing, as 20 years ago, with a sub 2:40 marathon capability, I might have covered 43-45 miles in the 6 hours.

I should be able to bring my time down to where I will be capable of 36 miles in 6 hours by march 2010. If that seems slow to you short distance runners, try running that distance and you will learn why.

Here are some of the landscape pictures that i took at about 7:15 AM just before race start on a rainy, drizzly morning in Rhode Island.

Best to all of you- let's train together! Rich Luciano
